Tobias Cronberg is Adjunct Professor in Neurology at the Medical Faculty of Lund University and Senior Consultant at the Department of Neurology, Skane University Hospital.
He conducted his thesis work at the Department of Experimental Brain Research, Wallenberg Neuroscience Centre, Lund on the mechanisms of ischemic cell death in vitro and in vivo, defended 2004.
His current research projects are focused on the treatment and consequences of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury following cardiac arrest. He was responsible for neurological prognostication and follow-up in the Targeted Temperature Management Trial and he is responsible for neuroprognostication in the TTM2 trial. He was the coordinator for the guidelines on neuroprognostication following cardiac arrest from the Swedish Resuscitation Council 2012 and senior author 2017. He was also a guideline author for the ERC/ESICM in 2015. His ongoing research projects regards EEG, brain CT and blood biomarkers after cardiac arrest, cognitive disability after cardiac arrest and postanoxic status epilepticus etc.
He has a long-standing interest in teaching and is responsible for the medical school program in Neurology.
